The Blackberry Aurora was officially launched in March 2017.

The BlackBerry Aurora is a full touch bar device with dimensions of exactly 152 × 76.8 × 8.55 mm. Its dimensions, however, makes it thicker than many other phones, denying it the good look that comes along with a phone’s thinness. The phone weighs 178 grams (6.27 ounces). Though it’s not heavy, it is heavier than the majority of the current market-dominating gadgets.

The BlackBerry Aurora display is enhanced with an AMOLED Capacitive Touch Screen capable of displaying 16m colors at 267 ppi Pixel Density. It also comes with a Touch Screen with Multi-Touch Support. The phone’s display resolution is 720 × 1280 pixels and is compact with a the 5.5 Inch display.

For its hardware, the device is empowered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, MSM8917 Chipset and Quad Core Processor enabling it to handle multiple tasks at a speed of 1.4 GHz. The BlackBerry Aurora is packed with 4GB of RAM and a 32 GB internal storage. Its memory can be expanded to 256 GB using a Micro SD card.

Android version 7.0 (Nougat) which is still the latest version, is the Operating System running the BlackBerry Aurora.

The BlackBerry Aurora has a 13MP rear camera, though with no camera flash, and an 8MP secondary front camera. The 4160 × 3120 pixels resolution of the camera enables users to catch favorite movements in photographs. It also provides HD quality videos recording at 1080p 30FPS quality. The camera gives a clear focus on objects because it has a powerful digital zoom. The autofocus, touch focus, self-timer, face detection, smile detection, HDR, burst mode, face beauty, voice capture, gesture shot, PDAF Sensor, and low light mode features make the BlackBerry Aurora’s camera one of the most sophisticated, but really good.

The front 8MP camera also takes quality photos. In addition, it has advanced features such as TV output which enables the user to connect the device directly through LED, LCD TV through the BlackBerry Aurora. This camera also has a sweep panorama feature that enables one to take pictures all around them.

The device has dual SIM connectivity and supports all GSM based network providers. It supports 2G Band Frequency at GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, and High-Speed 3G Network Ban at HSDPA 850, HSDPA 900, HSDPA 1900, and HSDPA 2100. It also supports LTE based 4G Networks Support at Frequency level LTE 700, LTE 2100, LTE 800, LTE 1800, LTE 2600, LTE 850, LTE 1700, LTE 900, LTE 1900, and LTE 2300. It comes with network handling support with network settings and works offline with flight mode. It is also capable of data connection through Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Its Wi-Fi feature also supports dual band, and has Hotspot to share an Internet connection. It also has Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. The phone also supports accelerometer, proximity, and compass sensors.

BlackBerry Aurora supports the following major auto formats; WAV, AAC, AMR, MP3, FLAC, MKA, OGG, ACC+, and eAAC+. It also supports video formats; 3GP, MP4, FLV, WMV, xVID, AVI, MOV, H.264, and H. Its 32GB internal memory storage enables the user to store all music and video files types. The device also supports an FM recording feature. Its 3000mAh battery gives it the power to playback music up to forty eight hours through a standard Media Player and videos for 10 hours when the battery is fully charged.
