Huawei Mate 10 Display with ‘Intelligent Color Selection’ Feature

From the previous leak, we know that Huawei Mate 10 will employ a good hardware and design. The company, however, doesn’t stop there. It continues leaking new information, such as its official unveiling on October 16 and another six-second video about its new feature.

Huawei Mate 10 new leak

Huawei Mate 10

Today, Huawei reveals two leaks and the first one is in the form of an image coming from China about the device’s front screen (see picture above). The picture reveals the Smartphone’s thin bezel and a Huawei logo on the bottom part of the display. Huawei Mate 10 will also have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner since it couldn’t fit on the front.

The previous leak suggested that Huawei would launch, at least, two different Huawei Mate 10 Editions, which may be called as Mate 10 and Mate 10 Lite, or Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Regardless of which naming will be used, the front panel leaked today belongs to the higher-end variant.

Specification leak

What we know so far about Huawei Mate 10 specs are based on the previous leaks. It is said that Huawei’s latest Mate series will be powered by the new-grown Kirin 970 chipset under the hood, which will include a dedicated chip for Augmented Reality.

It will carry a 6GB of RAM alongside with 64/128GB of internal memory. We don’t know for sure if the Smartphone will support expansion via microSD. Because the mobile will use a thin bezel model, it will be 7.5mm thick and pack with a hefty amount of 4,000 mAh battery capacity.

For the IP68 water and dust certification, so far, it’s just still a rumor. Nevertheless, we hope the company will give clarification about it soon. Talking about the camera setups, Huawei Mate 10 will boast a 12MP and 20MP dual lenses with a f/1.6 aperture at the back, which both using Leica branding, and an 8MP selfie-cam will be on the front.

The back cameras are expected to include a primary snapper shooting in color and a monochrome shooter for black and white pictures. That combination is supported by the used processor, Kirin 970 and provides a sharper image that has a better quality photograph under low-lights conditions.

In terms of the display screen, you can expect a 5.9-inch FHD display panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and 18:9 ratio for the Huawei Mate 10, whereas the Mate 10 Pro will sport a bigger QHD+ screen with a 1440 x 2880 resolution. Huawei calls its edge-to-edge display screen as ‘full vision display’. This will mark that the Chinese Smartphone manufacturer has followed the full-screen display hype on the Android market.

The second leak is in the form of a six-second video about Huawei Mate 10’s lock screen. There’s a new feature called ‘intelligent color selection’ that can identify the color scheme of the wallpaper and selects a complementary color of the lock screen text. Huawei states that this color selection trait will be present not only on the lock screen but also on the home screen.

Huawei’s latest phone will run on the company’s new OS series, EMUI built atop Google’s latest operating system, Android 8.0 Oreo. There’s no information about the official price, but we believe Huawei Mate 10 will be competing with Apple’s iPhone X and therefore, its price tag will be lower than the latter

Although the iPhone X is going to sell well, it will still suffer from the availability stock issue and its iwatering cost of $999. This could be Huawei’s chance to drop Apple’s place to the third rank of the global mobiles vendor shipments and markets for this quarter. Both companies (Huawei and Apple) are chasing after Samsung.
