Nokia Edge specs, features, price, and release date

Nokia is back! But, did they come back with a vengeance? It remains to be seen, as everyone is anticipating the return of Nokia in the smartphone market with one of their first ever android operated smartphone, the Nokia Edge. There’s no doubt that Nokia is one of the most awaited smartphones this 2017, as Nokia is one of the most well-loved brand of cellphones due to the popularity that they’ve gained in the early part of 2000’s. What’s more special is that the Nokia Edge is reportedly to be released an affordable price ranged and it contains a unique feature that’s never seen before in a Nokia smartphone.

The rumor is that it is likely to deliver an edge to edge 5.5 or 5.7 inches AMOLED display screen with a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch, and there will be no button on the device. It will share some similarities with the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and is rumored to deliver a 2K display resolution. If this is true, Nokia Edge definitely deliver a stunning, admirable display on its screen that can be surely enjoyable for android games, social media fun, YouTube watching, online movie streaming, email messaging, and many more functions that a smartphone can perform, and if it is truly equipped with AMOLED technology, it’s a no brainer that it will have a Google’s Daydream VR just like in the Google Pixel phone and Sony’s XZ Premium.

The camera department is anticipated to have a Carl Zeiss technology just like in the old Nokia phone with at least 23 megapixels rear camera and 8 megapixel front-facing shooter and expected to have autofocus, touch focus, panorama, face detection, HDR, food, figital zoom, and many more features. In terms of camera performance, Nokia has truly made a name for themselves as the Carl Zeiss technology that they incorporated in their old phones before is a truly an amazing one and it can definitely delivers capture well detailed, proper exposure, accurate color images, as well as quality video recording.

The Nokia Edge 2017 is expected to be run by the latest Android Operating system, the Android 7.0 Nougat in an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz at least 3 or 4 GB of working memory and with 32 GB of internal storage with maybe a support for memory expansion through the second slot for the SIM card just like the other android smartphones. The graphics department is also expected to be powered by the latest GPU that can also be found in other flagship smartphones.

The battery juice of the Nokia Edge 2017 is rumored to be at 3600 mAh Lithium ion, which seems enough to power the device in a whole day of use or for at least 2 days in a light usage. In terms of security, it is rumored to have a fingerprint scanner (today’s norm of smartphone security) or maybe as others claim a retina scanner.

It is reported that maybe this March or April this 2017 will be the release date of Nokia Edge 2017, perhaps in the Rs. 22,999 to Rs. 50,000 price ranged in the Indian market. All in all, it is expected to certainly be competitive with the likes of Samsung, iPhone, and the Google Pixel Phone, showing that as the saying that the king will be back and reclaim its throne. It remains to be seen how many of these reported features and rumors are true, as nothing is confirmed yet in the news and all of us are anticipating for the return of the former king. A lot of prior Nokia fans are getting excited about the release of the first edge to edge display smartphone of this well-loved brand, this time in Android’s own environment just like the first reported Nokia 6.
