The OnePlus Company has started rolling out the latest software update, OxygenOS to its newest Smartphone model, OnePlus 5 today. The mobile will also get another LineageOS renewal version next week. Read below for more information about the two software updates.
OxygenOS software update (OnePlus 5)
Starting today, some users of OnePlus 5 will receive the newest build of OxygenOS software, the OxygenOS version 4.5.10. As always, this latest version will be delivered gradually via OTA (Out-The-Air) update. It is expected that the new version reaches a broader release in the next few days.
Although the Oxygen v 4.5.10 doesn’t bring any additional features, it is designed to bring better performances to the handset. The software update focuses more on removing bugs, fixing nagging issues, and improving the mobile camera’s performance.
After changing your Android handset version into this build, your camera will have a photo reduction. It will also improve the camera stability and enhances the noise and texture enhancements for 60fps video.
Several system problems like the accidental click when hanging up on phone, display issue on the calling screen, scrolling problem in PlayMusic, new font display, and video clarity took by SnapShot app are fixed. OxygenOS 4.5.10 will also add country information about photographers in ‘Shot on OnePlus’ in the launcher and enhances the Wi-Fi stability and Jio call functionality.
LineageOS official new build
With the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, you can expect that the latest LineageOS software update, the LineageOS 14.1 will bring the Oreo custom ROM to your phone. Right now, the newest ROM called the Nougat ROM has the same level with Android 7.0 Nougat Operating System.
If you can’t wait until next week, you can try downloading the beta version of LineageOS v14.1. To use the unofficial one, you need to perform a reset then, do the clean install. Those who download the beta version shouldn’t worry about any bugs carried with it for the developer has tried the software and it doesn’t seem to have any problem.
If you own a OnePlus 5, you can choose between those two software builds mentioned above. Whichever you will pick, remember that both have their own features and improvements. If you want to have more choices in theme customization and faster launcher, you can try the LineageOS 14.1. However, if you’re fine with your Android OS and want to have improvements in the system features instead, you can install the Oxygen v4.5.10.
