When can you Open a Dispute?
Technically, a customer can open a dispute on the sixth day of goods sent by the seller. If the seller has sent the package via China or Hong Kong post, you can open the dispute till the 39th day of the goods be sent. For other courier services like DHL, EMS, FedEx the time span for submitting an “Open Dispute” is shorter. It is supposed to be requested not later than the 23rd day from the date of goods sent off by the seller.
The most important part about opening a dispute on Aliexpress is to open it within the Buyer Protection Period. As soon as the buyer protection period expires, your order is sealed and a request to open a dispute cannot be submitted.
What if you have not received your order?
If the item, you ordered hasn’t reached you, you can track the package. If you have your doubts then don’t hesitate to drop off a message to the seller so that he can make things clear for you.
If you find the seller unresponsive, then open the dispute within the Buyer Protection Period. You can also ask the seller to extend buyer protection period.
What if the item that reached you is defective?
The foremost step in this scenario should be to contact the seller and tell them everything. Mostly, the seller will be accommodating and cooperative. They might offer a refund or a replacement themselves. If not, you can open a dispute for “refund” or “refund and return”.
