Swirling rumors about the leaked new flagship smartphone from Oppo Company has been on a roll the past few weeks. Recently, we’ve learned that the new model will be the upcoming Oppo Find 9 and it is the successor to 2014’s Oppo Find 7, which came out as the new Oppo Company joined the smartphone industry, and thanks to the Find 7 and Find 7a Oppo has been considered a strong contender in a smartphone market since then. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer was first reported that they were developing their next flagship device in a bezel less display just like their competitor’s Xiaomi Mi Mix. Different rumors and a lot of unconfirmed news have been spread until news has picked up again on Weibo that the long awaited successor for Find 7 is set to be released this first half of 2017.
The leaked news claims that the Oppo will emulate the ZTE’s Nubia Z11 will boast a bezel-less display and will adopt the touch-sensitive side rails. The display is reported to be a 5.5 inch quad HD 1440 X 2560 pixels resolution that has a pixel density of 534 pixels per inch and it is to be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The camera department will be headline by a rear 21 megapixel shooter while the front facing one will get a 16 megapixel sensor. In terms of battery juice, it is presumed that it is a 4100 mAh one and comes with Super VOOC technology that will enable the smartphone to quickly charge the cell up. For those who are not familiar with Super VOOC, Oppo shows it at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It’s a quick-charge technology that can deliver a 20W current to your phone for a full charge in just 15 minutes. This battery technology will be a big plus in Oppo find 9 if Oppo will implement this to their new flagship. There’s also a report that the Oppo Find 9 will have an AI infused Find on its operating system.
The report also claims that there will be two major variants for the Oppo Find 9. One will be mechanized by a Snapdragon 835, while the cheaper one will be powered by a Snapdragon 653. The working memory and internal storage is said to be available in 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage and 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage. Prices of this upcoming flagship from Oppo is said to go up from ¥3,999 or $581 which is quite prices for Chinese standards.
Website of gsmarena.com stated that the Oppo Find 9 will have a rear mounted finger print sensor and will also have accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors. In terms of connectivity, the Oppo Find 9 is said to be applying a USB type C 1.0 reversible connector, the Bluetooth is in 4.2 version, A2DP, LE and can support GPS in A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS while the Wi-Fi is a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band, Wi-Fi direct, and hotspot.
It remains to be seen how many of this leaked information were true and if the Oppo Find 9 will be a force to contend in smartphone industry this 2017. What we can only say for now is that Oppo has this potential to make a noise in a smartphone market through their tried and tested aesthetic design, innovative software and great battery life.
