We’re now waiting for the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The newest leak suggested that Samsung’s latest note would have dual sensor cameras that feature 3x optical zoom. This leak is credible. How? That leak came from a Dutch website called Galaxy Club and the information is alleged to be coming from Samsung official promotional documents. Let’s see how advanced this camera system.
Closer look at the camera features
You can see from the images below the differences between standard capture, digital zoom, and optical zoom. It’s good to note that the optical zoom in Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has significantly higher quality, which the South Korean tech manufacturer called as ‘Smart Zoom’.
We can’t tell much whether this optical zoom will be similar from the OnePlus 5 as that handset was announced to boast 2x optical zoom, but once the Smartphone was released, it only has 1.6x optical zoom. Where’s the rest 0.4x zoom? It is available digitally via ‘SmartCapture multi frame technology’. We hope Samsung won’t split the optical zoom feature via application just like OnePlus 5.
The official documents further reveal that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 camera feature will also include refocusing. For those who are wondering about this trait, refocus will capture images depth and spatial data via the dual-lenses, allowing users to choose a new focal point after capture.
Again, it’s not clear yet how this feature will work. Some rival manufacturers have applied that in their products but what refocus did was actually sharpen the selected focal point slightly and make everything else in the shot blurs just like in the pics above. We hope Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s refocus trait won’t be like that.
• Low-light photography
Those who like taking pictures in the night might go into ecstasies about this feature. That’s right, Samsung will improve the camera’s ability to shoot a low-light image. Samsung Galaxy Note 8, in fact, will carry a trait called ‘Super Night Shot Mode’, as well as a better HDR. Another feature that will be added is the brand new ‘Perspective View’ that allows for image rotation post-capture.
Other prominent leaks are coming from @evleaks on Twitter, showing the camera’s skill to change perspectives. There will be three options, original image, display rotated 45-degree, and display rotated -45 degree. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 seems to have three different background effects, too. See images below.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Overall look
The second leak from @evleaks shows the two color options (gold and black) of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 complete with its S-Pen stylus. From the leaked image, you can clearly see the slim body design of Samsung’s latest note flagship. It will boast the dual sensor cameras on the rear next to the fingerprint reader.
The display screen will follow Samsung Galaxy S8’s infinity display, meaning that there won’t be any physical Home button. On the side, you can see a power key, volume button, and the last but not least, the Bixby call button. This note will be officially released on August 23, 2017, in New York.
