Samsung hasn’t done yet in producing creative Smartphone products, even after the launching of Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and the newly released Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Those three gadgets have broken the pre-order and sales numbers and sit on the top of the Android market. Now, the South Korean Smartphone manufacturer has planned to bring its newest flagship, Samsung Galaxy S9 to the table sometime in 2018. Although it is still months later for this device to be launched, still, there are many rumors and speculations about it surfaced on the web. Let’s see what we can expect from Samsung’s upcoming Android handset.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Specification
The South Korean phone manufacturer will improve several specs from the S8 and S8 Plus series when they employ it later on Galaxy S9. Despite having enhancements here and there, some of the hardware and feature will also stay the same. Read below for both the improvement and retention.
A rumor claims that the S9 will sport the SM-G960 internal designation, which is the improved version of SM-G950 and 955 from S8 and S8 Plus. On top of that, Samsung’s latest mobile will carry Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (not 835) SoC and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo Operating System alongside with Samsung Experience UI version 9.0.
It is reported that Samsung will once again secure the first batch of the Snapdragon 845. This fact, however, will force other Smartphone competitors that used the same processor to delay their own phone launching, which happened before when Samsung got the initial shipment of Snapdragon 835 chipset for its Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
You can also expect that the company will correct the rear camera position. Granted that the rumor’s true, the back lens will be placed in a centered rectangular cutout. This will make things easier for users to unlock their devices.
Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy S9 will have detachable accessories just like Moto Mods as well as a substrate-like PCB that can increase the overall battery capacity. Since all of this information is merely rumors and speculations, it’s better to sieve this information with a grain of salt.
The South Korean company, for sure, will continue using the QHD+ resolution at 1440 x 2960 with 18:5:9 ratio for the display screen. You can expect that the company will still use the ‘Infinity Display’ or perhaps even improve it to a certain degree. It will also keep the super thin bezels, but no words about the camera solution and its features.
Just like its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy S9 will boast 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory. It’s safe to believe that the expansion via microSD support will still around as well as the IP68 water and dust proof certification.
We don’t know yet if Samsung will release the limited edition of this phone just like its previous Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Those two previously mentioned Android flagships were sold at a higher price for more RAM and in-built storage capacity.
