Sony never disappoints. They always manufacture new phone before we even forget the previous. As expected, at the mobile world congress held in Barcelona Sony announced a total of four phones that it’s preparing to launch soon. However, what people are anticipating more is the SONY XPERIA PREMIUM VS SONY XPERIA XZs. These two smartphones are obviously high -end given that they are Sony made but the new feature that people can’t wait to experience is the first ever super slow motion camera in a smartphone.Selfie lovers will totally love it.But the question is who is more superior between the two masterpieces in termsof specifications and performance.

Hands down, Xperia XZ premium takes the crown when it comes to processors as it is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This processor is faster and no smartphone is currently using it. I think it’s totally unfair to compare these phones as the XZs, will be using the old Snapdragon 820. This means that XZ premium will be much faster than XZs.

Qualcomm claims that. Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor 35% smaller and uses 25% less power than previous designs, and is engineered to deliver exceptionally long battery life.”

The outlook of these two phone is pretty much the same with the same pattern that comes with Sony smartphones. However, the edges are more round.

Xperia premium is (154.9 x 76.2 x 7.62 millimeters) in size while Xperia XZ measures (146 x 72 x 8.1 millimeters). SONY XPERIA PREMIUM VS SONY XPERIA XZs phones weigh approximately (192.8 grams) and (161 grams) respectively. XZ premium is much bigger and slimmer compared to ZXs. However, the latter is lighter. In regards to the screen, the Xperia premium spots a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 2,160 x 3,840 pixels (807 ppi) while Xperia XZ s has a 5.2 and a 1,080 x 1,920 pixels (424 PPI) resolution. They will both come with a 4K HDR display which means the colors will be brighter. Nevertheless, it’s evident that Xperia premium has a bigger screen and can give the user a better viewing experience.

Sony has always given more attention to the quality of the camera. And these two devices are no different. Both phones come with 19MP Motion-Eye rear + 13MP front cameras. I guess this is the highlight of both phones. The cameras possess a capture technology which allows you to go back and chose the frame that pleases you from the preselected frames in case of a wrong shot. According to DIGITAL TRENDS “Motion-Eye also allows the XZ Premium and XZs to capture slow-motion footage at 960 frames-per-second. The cameras feature intelligent exposure control, improving image quality in low-light settings, and anti-distortion technology to smooth out photos of moving subjects.”

Memory and capacity

SONY XPERIA PREMIUM VS SONY XPERIA XZs have 4GB ram. However, when it comes to memory, Xperia XZ premium packs a 64GB while Xperia comes with either 32GB or 64GB. The memory of both phones it extendable to a maximum of 256GB with the use of an SD card.

Xperia XZ premium packs a 3,230mAh while Xperia XZs is powered by a 2,900mAh battery. It’s understandable that the former has a bigger battery given that it has heavier duties to power its powerful processor and big screen. There’s word that Xperia XZ premium will come with a technology that prevents overcharging, which could damage your phone's battery over time.

Both phones are great, but we can’t deny that Xperia XZ premium is much better regarding processor, battery, and those two features can bring a very significant difference. There are also rumors that the XZ premium will cost a little more than its counterpart.
