In March 2017, the Vernee Apollo X was released by the Vernee Company in Barcelona during the 2017 Mobile World Conference (MWC). Vernee, though not a very famous Chinese brand, has got huge plans for 2017 that are probably going to make many people sit up and take notice, starting with the 5-mobile phone launches they did all at once at the 2017 MWC.
The company has described the Vernee Apollo X as a special version in the Vernee Apollo series, having declared it as the world’s first deca-core flagship smartphone with its own Operating System, known as VOS which is still a 7.0 Android version. The phone sports a full metal unibody design. It is 178 grams (6.27 ounces) heavy with 152.4 × 76.2 × 8.9 mm dimensions.
Its body is all aluminum alloy, made with CNC AND 3D Sandblasting, Space Grade Aluminum. It also comes with LTE Cat 6 300 Mbps download, 50 Mbps upload, HSUPA 5,76 upload, HSUPA 21 MBPS download, OTG support, Computer Sync, OTA Sync, Tethering, eMMc 5.1 storage technology, and Smart Finger print sensor enhancing its security, though it unlocks fast with 0.1s speed. It also has other sensors including proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, compass, gyroscope, and hall sensors.
Vernee Apollo X is a 5.5 inch full HD display screen, with Corning Gorilla 2.5D curved glass for protection and a 1920 × 1080 screen resolution. It is run by deca-core 2 × 2.3GH cortex – A 72 + 4 × 1.85GHz, cortex 4 × 1.4GHz and cortex – A53 CPU, a MediaTek Helio x20 MT6797 chipset processor with ARM Mali-T880 NP4, 830 MHz, and a 6 cores GPU. The Helio x20 is the first deca-core processor with a three- cluster framework. The CPU has 10 processing cores, which enables smooth operation of both light apps and heavy apps. Light apps such as Facebook will only activate small cores. Some apps, such as video playing, will initiate both small and medium cores. Heavy Apps such as games will activate middle and large cores for enhanced performance without generating too much heat, preventing the battery from dying fast.
The Mali T880 MP4 GPU clocking at 780MHz allows the Apollo X to deal with 4k video and 3D games with ease and without the hanging experience. MediaTek’s unique SilkSwipe provides a faster response of 45 milliseconds to touch, making Apollo X compete with the A8 chip on the iPhone 6 Plus which has a 55 milliseconds touch speed. Its prices, which are not very high like most highly rated gadgets from corporations such as Samsung and Apple, adds a competitive advantage to the Apollo X, making many describe it as the most cost-effective flagship with 64GB ROM.
The Vernee Apollo X is powered by a decent non-removable Lithium- Polymer 3500mAh battery which has a much longer life, up to one full day under heavy usage. The phone comes with MediaTek Pump Express 3.0, which enables the battery to charge super quickly; up to half-way-full in 30 minutes with its 9v/2A charger.
The phone is packed with 4GB of RAM, enabling smooth multitasking, and a 64 GB internal mMemory which is expandable up to 128 GB, making one able to store a lot of data in it. It is dDual SIM. Vernee Apollo X comes in only two colors; gray and silver.
