Rumors Coming from Indonesia suggested that Xiaomi and Google have been working together to create an Android One Phone that can boast the dual cameras Xiaomi Mi 5X with the name Xiaomi Mi A1.
Just lately, this handset’s benchmark result has resurfaced on the web, revealing interesting result about this mid-range phone. Scroll down the page to see the Geekbench result of Xiaomi Mi A1.
Xiaomi Mi A1 Geekbench Result
The popular benchmark application, Geekbench has listed the budget Smartphone, Xiaomi Mi A1 on its website. Although no one knows for sure the hardware platform or processor of this gadget, the data input on the Geekbench’s website does give us clue.
The listing shows that the chipset used for this particular mobile has the model number of MSM8953, which often applied to Qualcomm’s popular mid-range chipset, Snapdragon 625. This processor seemed to be paired with an Octa-core ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPU, clocked at 2.0GHz. For the graphic, Xiaomi Mi A1 will employ Adreno 506 GPU.
You can see from the picture above that Xiaomi Mi A1 scored 852 points for the single-core result and achieved 3837 for the multi-core platform test. Those results are impressive, almost looks the same with other mid-range mobiles that sport Snapdragon 625.
Xiaomi Mi A1’s multi-core score isn’t higher than Xiaomi 5X, but the Smartphone’s result is closer to the best-seller Redmi Note 4. The listing also reveals that the Android One Phone, dubbed as Xiaomi Mi A1, will run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat Operating System and sports a 4GB of RAM.
Since the Android 8.0 Oreo OS has been gradually released, there’s a chance that Xiaomi Mi A1 won’t be shipped with Android 7.1.2 Nougat Operating System as mentioned earlier. There are numerous leaks about Xiaomi Mi A1 recently.
Some of the rumors suggest that this Chinese Smartphone will measure a 5.5-inch display screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is tipped that Xiaomi Mi A1 will carry a 32GB of internal storage. We don’t know yet whether it will support expansion via microSD just like Android One Phone because the latter has the feature.
In terms of battery, this phone is fueled by a 3,080 mAh power capacity. For the camera, this Android handset will employ rear-mounted dual camera sensors and can connect to two cellular networks simultaneously through its dual SIM standby feature.
We believe that this gadget, just like other Android One Phones, it will receive the latest version of Android OS, the security patches, and OS upgrades from Google itself. On top of that, the search giant company will also provide free unlimited high-quality image backup through Google Photo.
There’s no official information so far about the actual release date of this device and its full specification. Other details like pricing and product availability will be shared later once the Smartphone has been announced.
What makes Snapdragon 625 popular in mid-range devices?
The reason why Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 is very popular among the middle-end handset is due to its power-efficiency. Designed through the 14nm FinFET node technology process, this SoC (System on Chip) can save more energy from the electron leakage.
The Snapdragon X9 Modem, part of Snapdragon 625, also supports Category 7 LTE, meaning that the maximum attainable download speeds of the so-called Android handset can reach 300Mbps. It’s very amazing because to reach that speed, the SoC needs to use technologies like 2x carrier aggregation and 64-QAM.
