Xiaomi is a Chinese electronic company that is headquartered in Beijing. It’s well renowned for manufacturing cost-effective smartphone with good specifics. Currently, it holds the fifth position of the best smartphone manufacturing companies in the world. Early this year they launched a new flagship the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 that we will be comparing with its predecessor the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 that was launched January last year. It was one of the top selling online phones last year.
According to gadgets360 The Redmi Note 3, in particular, saw a lot of success in the Indian market with over 2.3 million units sold within six months of launch.
These two phones have a lot of similarities. They have the same screen size 5.5 inches however the screen to body ratio differs with 72.7%for the note 4 and 72.4%for the note 3.
The handset size of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm and weigh 165 g with the battery. For the Redmi Note 3 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm and 164 g on scale. The size and the weight difference is not significant and is barely noticeable.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 runs on Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow) while the Note 3 uses Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop), but you could upgrade to v6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625Octa-core clocking at 2.0 GHz, Cortex-A53 coupled with an Adreno 506. The Redmi Note 3 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 Hexa-core (4x1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & 2x1.8 GHz Cortex-A72Adreno 510. The big difference is the number of cores, the note 4 has eight while the note 3 has six. This means that the former can be able to perform heavier tasks than the latter.
When it comes to the capacity the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in two versions 32 GB, 2/3 GB RAM or 64 GB, and 4 GB RAM the same to the note 3 16 GB, 2 GB RAM for the Standard version and 32 GB, 3 GB RAM, Special version. This means in both versions the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a bigger storage space and a bigger RAM. The note 4 is probably going to run applications more smoothly and also can run more task simultaneously compared to note 3.
Regarding the camera thy both have a dual camera, the Note 3 spots a bigger camera 16 MP for the rear with f/2.0, aperture while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 13 MP but maintains the f/2.0 aperture. I both phone the selfie camera is 5 MP. I don’t think that the note 3 takes much better pictures than note 4, however, t you would see a little clarity if you are keen to compare. Many people can’t really differentiate. More camera features for both phones include Phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR, panorama.
As far as the battery is concerned the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for packs a Non-removable Li-Po 4100 mAh battery. The note three battery is Li-Po 4050 mAh battery and also non-removable.
It’s really hard to choose from these two xiaomi flagships reason being there almost the same .despite the camera MPs difference the photo and selfies quality is as excellent, space as you know, not everybody needs a big space on their phone, that’s what computers are for. The 1GB ram difference is also not much of big deal. Coming down to the battery both phones have large batteries and the battery life is almost as great. So anyone who wants to buy the either note 4 or 3 would choose either. The bad news is that some consumers have been complaining that these phones are great at first but can just ‘die’ without warning. However, a lot of people is satisfied with the phones.
